The Expert Advisor builder turns your trading rules into compiled MQL4 or MQL5 bots. Pick MT4 or MT5, name your EA, add buy/sell conditions from built-in or custom indicators, set lot sizing and safeguards, then compile to .ex4/.ex5.
Use the same workflow for new bots or to update saved templates from your library.

Choose MT4 or MT5
MT4 suits legacy brokers and .ex4 distribution. MT5 adds netting/hedging modes and richer order types. Switch version from the builder header or open /pages/expert/input/mt4 vs /pages/expert/input/mt5 directly.
Log in and open Create MT4 EA or Create MT5 EA from the footer or App Home.
Confirm the page title shows the correct platform (MT4 or MT5).
Use the version switcher in the builder if you need to change platform mid-session.
Configure your EA
Start with EA name and version. Add description and contact fields on paid plans for marketplace listings.
Buy Conditions define when the bot opens trades. Exit Conditions (Trader plan+) close positions. Safeguards cap daily loss, drawdown, spread, sessions, and news exposure.
Enter EA name and version (required).
Under Buy Conditions, pick Left/Right indicators, expression (e.g. crossed above), and timeframe.
Add more conditions with AND/OR groups as needed.
Set lot size, stop loss, take profit, and trailing options under Money Management.
Enable safeguards before live trading—daily loss limit and max drawdown are strongly recommended.

Tip: Run Strategy Tester on demo before live. Free Starter allows 5 compiles/day—plan iterations accordingly.
Tip: Use onboarding tour (?onboarding=1) on first visit for a quick walkthrough.
Tip: Save often; compile only when logic is stable to conserve daily compile quota.
Use Strategy AI
Strategy AI fills buy and sell entry/exit conditions from plain English—no manual dropdown wiring for your first draft.

Open the EA builder (MT4 or MT5).
Click the Strategy AI chip in the bottom-right corner.
Describe your rules in plain English and click Send.
Review the parsed summary and click Apply to form.
Edit any condition rows, then compile as usual.

Compile and download
Compile sends your configuration to the cloud MQL compiler. On success you get .ex4/.ex5 (and source on eligible plans). Copy files into MetaTrader Experts folder and attach to a chart or tester.
Click Compile and wait for success notification.
Download the compiled file from the compile result or My Experts list.
In MetaTrader: File → Open Data Folder → MQL4/5 → Experts, paste file, refresh Navigator.
Drag EA onto chart or open Strategy Tester, enable AutoTrading if going live.
25
25 Save, then Download .ex4/.ex5 after compile
