How licensing works
This guide explains activations and sessions in simple terms.
Key concepts
- License key: the key emailed to you after purchase/download.
- Activation slot: one allowed active session.
- accountNumber: your broker account number.
- chartId: a unique id per chart (or installation/session id depending on EA).
What counts as an activation?
Typically: one running EA instance bound to an accountNumber + chartId.
Deactivation
Deactivate before moving to a new VPS or reinstalling to free a slot.
Common issues
- Wrong accountNumber
- Exceeded slots
- Clock/VPS reset changed identifiers
